Favorite moments of 2018

I take a look back at some of my favorite moments of 2018

I have been working here at Greener-Garden for a little over 4 months now. We at Greener-Garden are busy getting ready for the holiday. I have had a blast working, filming, and writing since I started working here. I think this would be a good time to highlight some of my favorite moments working here at GG.

Only about a week into working here and after filming my first video, one of my office mates mentioned some of the really cool tools we have here. They sold me on the KatanaBoy by asking me if I’ve ever seen a giant switchblade. Needless to say, I was not disappointed.

Being relatively new to gardening myself, another stand out moment for me was hearing about grafting. I was putting up information on a grafting knife that we have, but wasn’t sure what grafting was. After finding out how farmers would take one plant and connect it to another, making it possible for one tree to grow multiple fruits, inspired me to do research and write a blog.

I had a lot of fun testing products in our filming. Between using a chainsaw for the first time, throwing budding knives to throwing hatchets. None of these moments, however, compare to the excitement I felt when I split one of my arrow on an axe. This was a really difficult shot to make, and I was able to pull it off in less than 20 arrows. James didn’t think I could do it

Speaking of product reviews. I recall learning a very valuable lesson during our holiday cooking review. One: corn stock knives are terrible in the kitchen. Two: I cry from cutting onions.

And last for my wrap up of the year, I would like to talk about the different tours we’ve been on. I had the opportunity to go interview, tour, and see the workings of several community gardens, nurseries and farmer markets. The one that stood out to me the most has got to be Sundial Farms. I have never seen a Hydroponic farm before. My expectations of the facility were blown away. Not to mention the owner was one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

A lot of memorable events have happened to me since starting at Greener Garden. I thank you for taking the time to follow us along this journey. We look forward to the many new and great things we can bring you in the coming year. Happy Holidays and see you next year!
